This Lean Leader course prepares participants to perform the role of a Lean Leader. The Lean Leader training materials comprise a comprehensive curriculum covering everything within the Lean Body of Knowledge required to successfully complete Lean Leader certification. After achieving this qualification, the Lean Leader contribute their knowledge and expertise and utilise the learnt PDSA methodology and the relevant Lean tools as well as the project management skills during the execution of a project throughout the organisation as a project manager to manage a team of Lean Beginners and Practitioners.
The Lean Leader certification program is perfect for participants with limited or no exposure to Lean who want to achieve their Lean Leader Certificate without achieving Lean Beginner and Lean Practitioner Certificates. The Lean Practitioner Body of Knowledge is covered in the first 3-days with the additional topics covered in the remaining 2-days for upgrading to Lean Leader.
After passing the knowledge exam, participants will be certified as Lean Leaders.
As a bonus, if the participants want to apply their knowledge and complete a project, after successful completion of the Lean Leader Project Portfolio within 6 months, they will achieve another certificate that includes the project title. A project examination fee of $850+GST is payable if applicable.
The certificates will be granted under the Exemplar Global banner according to the ISO 18404 international standard.
The ISO 18404 Exemplar Global Certification also includes the following services free of charge for 12 months:
As all Lean Leader topics are covered during the course, there is no formal prerequisite for the Lean Leader Certification.
As a lean six sigma novice, Arash provided a comprehensive training enabling me to be confident in my ability to implement the learned principles. His wealth of knowledge and focused teaching approach is refreshing and I would highly recommend lean six sigma training through CBIS.
Extremely knowledgeable trainer on Lean Six Sigma and it’s real world applications in both service and manufacturing industries.
Lean Six Sigma is a process improvement program that combines two ideas: Lean as a collection of techniques for improving flow in the value stream, eliminating waste and reducing the time needed to provide products or services, and Six Sigma is a collection of techniques and methodology for uncovering root causes to understand and reduce variation, consequently improving the quality of products and services, substantially contributing to increased customer satisfaction.
By combining the two methodologies, Lean Six Sigma is a proven business management strategy that helps organisations operate more effectively and efficiently by reducing variation and waste.
The organisations will benefit from the Lean & Six Sigma training and application through:
This will be achieved by performing interactive tasks, to achieve the following learning outcomes:
The qualifications and the level of engagement of a project team are ranked in ISO 18404 international standards for Lean qualifications. Beginner is the introductory level of Lean certification which can be upgraded to the practitioner, leader and then Lean Expert, as the highest-ranked qualification. Lean Expert is accreditation for professionals who work as the Lean senior trainer, consultant or coach as their career.

We also offer the “Virtual” option on the same schedule as our Public training for the people who prefer to attend the courses virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travelling constraints, etc.
“In-House” training is delivered on a more flexible schedule at the organisation’s premises for a group of internal people. For more details on the In-House training option, please refer to the In-House Training Page.

There are several accreditation bodies in existence including, IASSC, ASQ, Exemplar Global, The Council for Six Sigma Certification, 6sigmastudy, etc. Each body of knowledge may differ, but all are credible. Some, such as ASQ requires an affidavit for your project work, but others provide knowledge-based certification exams and do not require a project submission.
Amongst the above-mentioned accreditation bodies, Exemplar Global follows ISO 18404 International Standard as its Body of Knowledge (BoK), but others follow their own BoK.

The number of questions differs depending on the Lean programs listed below. The exam duration and pass mark are also included:
All the exams are closed book and proctored. If required, all formulas and tables one will need during the examination are provided in a reference document. Scratch paper is also furnished to candidates but must be destroyed prior to leaving the testing facility.
You can retake the exam and pay for the exam fee only. A retake exam cannot be undertaken more than once within a 2-week period and cannot be taken more than a total of three times within a 3-month period.
All certificates are granted for a period of three years from the time the candidate has received their Certification.
After that time, an Elapsed Status will then be applied to the Certification unless the participant has successfully been recertified via submitting project(s) portfolio or passing the recertification exam. Recertification exams are abbreviated versions of the Certification Exams. The number of questions and the duration is half and the Pass mark is 70%.
There are both web-based and paper-based exams available.
